Welcome to Glennallen School, the largest of four schools in the Copper River School District, serving over half of the district’s student population! Our school is located in Glennallen, 187 miles from Anchorage, at the junction of the Glenn and Richardson Highways, surrounded by mountains, rivers and forest. It dually serves as a community gathering place for events and activities. We are a diverse K-12 school, with between 250-290 students of Ahtna Athabascan Indian, Caucasian, Asian, and Pacific Islander descent. A hub of sorts, students attend Glennallen School from the greater Copper River area, including: Glennallen, Mendeltna, Copper Center, Tazlina, Gulkana, Gakona, and Chistochina. To fulfill the district's mission of providing a "quality education in a rural environment," students are afforded a full range of athletic, academic, and social opportunities. Striving to reach this goal is a cooperative effort on the part of the students, staff, administrators, parents, and community. We earnestly solicit your partnership in this endeavor and assure you that the investment made on behalf of our students is worth whatever it takes!
