The Glennallen Panthers track and field team had a success filled weekend, competing in the 1A-2A-3A ASAA Track and Field State Championships at Dimond High School Friday May 23 and Saturday May 24. Kendall Maslen took 4th in the girls 1600m. Jordan Sondergaard finished 4th in the boys 100m dash and second in the boys 200m dash. Senior Aaron Miller finished second in the boys 400m dash and Hannah Heinbaugh finished second in the girls 800m. Freshman Briahna Gerlach won both the girls 1600m and 3200m runs. The Glennallen boys’ team, which included Aaron Miller, Jordan Sondergaard, Trevor Grams, and Will Endres, finished 1st the 4X400m relay. Mackenzie Cyr, Hannah Heinbaugh, Briahna Gerlach, and Kendall Maslen finished second in the 4X400m relay. These girls also won the 4X800m relay with an impressive time 0f 9:53. To top off their success the girls team also won the 1A-2A-3A sportsmanship award. Congratulations to all of our Glennallen runners.

Briahna Gerlach won the 1-3A girls state 3200 meter run with a time of 11:13. Congratulations Briahna! The girls 4x8 relay also won the state 3200 meter run with a time of 9:52. The team consists of Hanna Heinbaugh, MacKenzie Cyr, Kendall Maslen, & Briahna Gerlach. Well done, girls!
ASB (Advisory School Board) Meeting

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss changes for the 2014-2015 school year. Please attend if you have comments or would like to ask questions.
The Glennallen School will host the 8th grade promotion May 20 at 7pm. A 6-8 grade dance will follow until 10pm. Parents, please bring a dessert to share.
The New Visions Arts Grant, funded by the Alaska State Council on the Arts and the Alaska Department of Education, helped to fund Mr. Anderson's residency at Glennallen School.
