Parents, we are approaching the last academic week of the 2nd quarter and 1st semester, marking the half waypoint of the school year. The teachers are very busy at this time of year bringing their academic classes to a semester’s close. Students too are busy making sure their grades are where they need to be in relation to their hard work and educational goals. Please make a point to talk with your child about his/her grades. By doing so, you are ensuring that those grades are aligned with their educational goals and aspirations. Is your child “making the grade?” Have your child log on to Power School so that you can see their attendance and grades. If your child is not making the grade, request to meet with his/her teachers to talk about why they are not.
Parents needed Thursday December 18th! It is time to show our appreciation and holiday cheer to our Glennallen JH & HS teachers by letting them have some time to enjoy a nice meal. Parents are needed to supervise a movie in the auditorium and a study hall in the library. Four more parents are needed from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm on Thursday, December 18th. This is being coordinated by the PTO so contact eitherPTO president Sara Cook or the high school office if you can volunteer. Thank you and Merry Christmas.
In conjunction with the hockey game and the theatre performance on December 13, there will be a Mexican Buffet set up in the commons from 2-8pm. This fundraiser is to help support Heidi Sutter in her running of the 2015 Iditarod. It will be $15 per plate per person. The buffet will include Indian tacos, burritos, beverages and dessert. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Heidi.
The Glennallen School Theatre Company will be performing Maniac Manor written by Don Lowry on Saturday December 13th at 6:00pm and the second performance will be Monday, December 15th at 6:00pm. There will be two performances with DIFFERENT casts to solve the mystery of who killed the wealthy Mr. Buffington. Detectives Alex Scott and Tabby Ross will lead the audience through their investigation as they determine who committed the murder.
The show will be $3.00 for students and $5.00 for adults. The maximum amount a family that arrives together will be charged is $20.00.
