Now is a great time for parents of pre-schoolers to start thinking about school readiness. Alaska Department of Education and Early Development Commissioner Michael Hanley created an initiative to encourage parents and other care-givers to interact with young children in ways that promote school readiness. EED has published a flier and postcard to promote singing, playing, reading and other fun activities. As stated in the materials, home should be one of the best places to start learning! Please forward these resources to your friends and family who have pre-school aged children.
