Welcome to Upstream Learning, Copper River School District’s Home Education Program! We are excited about the choices and individualized support that we are able to provide to home school families across the state of Alaska.
What is important here at Upstream Learning? - Curriculum choices for parents - Music, Art, and Hands on Classes - Creating a truly Individualized Learning Plan for each student - Networking with other home school families - Serving all Alaskan K-12 students including those with special needs
Come visit us! Upstream Learning Center is located in the north end of the District Office building on the Glennallen School Campus. Our suite of rooms includes a family room, offices, and our own classroom and library, which houses resource books and curriculum materials for families and is a place to come together for classes and activities. If you are an Alaskan family who loves learning and enjoys the challenge and adventure of homeschooling, we hope you’ll join us at Upstream Learning! Our enrollment is always open. ~Kim Roeske Upstream Learning Contact Teacher/Program Director
Our “Upstream Learning” name helps locate us geographically, as the Copper Valley has abundant rivers and streams, including the headwaters of the mighty Copper River. It also reflects that home educated students often follow a unique learning path that involves “swimming against the flow”, as they move through their K-12 education years. ~Ramona Henspeter Retired Upstream Learning Program Director
