ARCTIC first intensive week with Alaska Metal & Mechanical Training Center
The Copper River School District's Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs provide students with hands-on coursework focused on practical skills and technical knowledge. At Glennallen, classes include Intro. to Aviation, Woodworking, Engines, Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS), and Welding giving students direct experience with tools, material, safety procedures, and applied problem-solving. Robotics is offered at Slana, Kenny Lake, and Upstream, where students develop skills in coding, engineering design, and teamwork through structured builds and competitions. At Kenny Lake, students may also enroll in Yamaha Outboard Motor Repair, a specialized course that teaches marine maintenance and repair aligned with industry expectations.
