Welcome to Kenny Lake School

At Kenny Lake, our vision is to “Inspire and Challenge Our Students: Today and Every Day”. The staff takes ownership of all students, not just those on our rosters, and we work to meet their needs whether it be academically, socially-emotionally or physically.

This year, KLS has been chosen to participate in Project Transform, which is a project sponsored by the Alaska Association of School Boards and the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development (DEED). The goal of the project is to support schools in creating a trauma-engaged school. We will strengthen our abilities to understand trama and use trauma-engaged practices to help our students improve academically, behaviorally, and social-emotionally. The staff is excited about this opportunity, as it aligns with our vision.

As we work toward helping students achieve the skills to meet the CRSD’s “Profile of a Graduate” we will focus on developing the following positive habits: growth mindset, grit and gratitude as well as the traits in our motto: Be Hawk STRONG (Successful, Tenacious, Respectful, Outstanding, Noble and Gracious).
